At the heart of my work is a lifelong connection to nature, creativity, and craftsmanship.
Growing up surrounded by plants, flowers, and animals through my father’s floristry business and pet shop, I developed an early appreciation for the natural world. It felt only natural to follow that path, and I spent over 25 years building my own career in floristry, refining both my artistic eye and hands-on skills.
Alongside this, I nurtured a passion for woodworking, completing a variety of courses and exploring different creative techniques. My journey with willow began when I discovered a small animal sculpture at an agricultural show—an encounter that sparked a lasting fascination with this beautiful, versatile material.
Today, I work from home at The Willow Barn, creating handcrafted willow sculptures inspired by the countryside and the animals around me. From pigs and sheep to ducks, chickens, and dragonflies, each piece is shaped by observation, experience, and a deep love of rural life. More recently, I have been expanding my work into basketry, continuing to explore the possibilities of willow weaving.
Alongside my creative practice, I run willow weaving workshops where I share my skills with others, guiding participants in making their own animal sculptures and baskets. I also give talks and demonstrations to clubs and organisations, bringing this traditional craft to a wider audience.
Whether you’re joining a workshop, attending a demonstration, or simply discovering my work, I hope to inspire a connection to nature and the joy of making something by hand.
